Corrugated tunnels are factory made according to the customer’s needs. Various walking and shelving platforms, pipe brackets, conveyor platforms, partitions and doors, safety railings, emergency exits, and lighting and equipment mounts can be installed already at the factory.
As a total investment, the connecting tunnel is cheaper than many other solutions. The affordability is affected by its installation speed, the small number of committed project and installation personnel, and the customer-specific equipment carried out in factory conditions.
The material of the tunnel is hot-dip galvanized steel. The tunnel is light in weight and its installation is very easy and fast, as there is no need for heavy basic and foundation work. In addition, the appearance and comfort of the tunnel can be influenced by various color options, among other things.
The installation of the structure is carried out very quickly. Lightweight pipes are installed in parts, and a team consisting of a trained supervisor and ordinary employees is enough for installation. In addition, for successful installation, only a crane or excavator and basic tools are needed.
Installation is possible in both frosty and hot weather. For pipes, a suitable temperature range is -50-+50 °C.
The steel is corrosion-resistant by hot-dip galvanizing and additional protection. This ensures a service life of up to 100 years. When the pipes are installed correctly, they do not need special maintenance.
High-strength steel, corrosion protection and reduced construction ensure a long service life of threaded-seam structures. The pipes can be designed with either hot-dip galvanizing or an additional 300 μm polymer layer on both sides
The carbon dioxide emissions and energy and water consumption of steelmaking are significantly lower than those of concrete production. Steel is also an environmentally friendly material, as it is 100% reusable. In addition, the quick installation of pipes does little to pollute the environment.
